Sustainable Livelihood Institute, a Joint initiative between Government of Tamil Nadu and Auroville Foundation was established in 2015. From the initiation of the Institute, providing skill training in Sustainable Agriculture is one of its core areas. Based on its experience in the space of sustainable agriculture and related livelihood practices, SLI has created Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Agriculture (CESA) under its banner, aims to make a space of constructive dialogue, action research, innovation, publications and ultimately provide platform for knowledge and skill dissemination on sustainable agriculture front. It also will develop a set up a depository of resources for future generations. CESA identified and developed specialized workshops related to Sustainable Agriculture and allied sectors to promote the ideals of sustainable agricultural practices and ensure to get better livelihood opportunities to farming community. All our programmes are designed and delivered based on our interaction with rural community members and field level study at different rural pockets of Tamil Nadu.
